McBroom's spindle rebuilding and spindle replacement process is performed in an environmentally controlled atmosphere at our facility. If the design of a customer's product requires a spindle motor repair, the re-winding process of the motor can be done in-house reducing cost and machine downtime for our customers. The winding process can include McBroom's Premium Insulation Process (PIP) which enables the winding to operate at higher temperatures and in a harsh environment while increasing the life of the spindle motor. McBroom PIP protects against moisture, greatly improves heat transfer from the coils, prevents corrosion and enhances winding rigidity. The PIP process also prolongs spindle motor life and reduces downtime for the process. The PIP process prevents vibration and loosening of windings and wires and is an integral part of our spindle motor repair process. The PIP process also features sealing the spindle motor leads with a non-wicking material.
Before determining the root cause of the spindle failure, an evaluation by our spindle rebuilding techs is required. Several processes may be required to achieve the optimum result in our spindle rebuilding process. Spindle applications include:
The spindle application determines the process. McBroom has repair history with all types of spindles; belt driven, lathe, boring motorized, gear driven, high speed, block type, grinding, milling and machine tool.
Our spindle repair processes include:
In the completion stages of spindle rebuilding, a spindle run-in process is performed in our Quality Control test lab. Vibration is recorded and documented to ensure that spindle performance is maintained to its original design. Make us your source for reliable precision spindle repair and rebuilding. We service the aerospace, automotive, automation, grinding, woodworking and milling/sawing markets and all manufacturers, domestic and overseas. Call us today for a quote.
